This Hall of Fame will be housed in the new Sprint Center, Kansas City’s downtown arena that will open in 2007. Operated by the National Association of Basketball Coaches, the Hall of Fame launched a two-year fundraising and PR campaign with a “Tip-Off” event featuring Coach Mike Krzyzewski and sportscaster Billy Packer in October of 2005. A nationally-televised Induction Event will begin in fall 2006 in Kansas City. Working with a Board of Directors led by Coach K and a powerful group of coaches, this event promises to be a “who’s who” lineup each year, honoring the greatest names in college basketball history. Plans also call for celebration events around the country, focusing on geographical areas where each year’s inductees spent their career. |
