Negro Leagues Baseball Museum

In the 1920s, ‘30s, ‘40s and ‘50s, the Negro Leagues brought the thrills of black baseball to major urban centers and ignited economic development in many African-American communities. During that era, America witnessed some of the greatest players and most innovative coaching in the history of the game. It was a brand of baseball never seen before or since. These men left a legacy – one of excellence, one of innovation and one of historical perspective. They were pioneers and, by its end, played a major role in the racial integration of a country. That legacy now lives on through the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum, established in 1991 in Kansas City’s historic 18th & Vine District. At this grand facility, the rich history of the Negro Leagues is preserved and showcased.

Premier works with the museum, Major League Baseball and NLBM corporate partners to provide strategic guidance and direction in the development of revenue streams, programming and partnerships.

In 2014, Premier also worked with the NLBM to help establish its Hall of Game, through which the NLBM annually honors former MLB greats who competed with the same passion, determination, skill and flair exhibited by the heroes of the Negro Leagues. We continue to manage the induction event every spring.

Our role includes the following activities:

  • Establish new corporate partner program that will inspire year-round involvement by local and national companies/brands
  • Create plan to integrate Major League Baseball, its member clubs and individual players into the NLBM’s initiatives and become funding partners
  • Build an advisory council comprised of business executives to provide leadership and help bring new partners to the museum
  • Manage the annual Hall of Game induction event

Premier helped create and implement a highly successful series of events and programming surrounding the MLB All-Star Game in Kansas City in July 2012 to generate revenue and global awareness. The development of a corporate partner program and MLB partnerships currently is in progress.
